We are very experienced in shipping our puppies throughout the United States. Shipping includes the required health certificate from our licensed veterinarian. The puppy will have enough room to stand up and turn around comfortably in the shipping kennel. Our puppies can be shipped after they have turned 8 weeks of age. We have several ways to ship your new puppy. Please ask us for more information.
We are always looking for the best possible nutrition for our puppies. Please ask us which puppy food we are feeding your puppy (currently it is Royal Canin Puppy/Chiot. The feeding schedule is in the morning and in the evening. The serving amount at each feeding is from 3/4 to 1 cup of food. No water is mixed into the food. On the first visit to your veterinarian, ask him/her how much food you should give your puppy. We are currently feeding our puppies the puppy food brand Royal Canin Puppy/Chiot.
Please do not change the food. Do not give your puppy soft or human food. After a couple of weeks after the puppy has settled in to your home’s surroundings, if you wish to change the puppy’s diet please do so gradually. Add some of the new food in with the old, slowly increasing the amount of the new diet until the change is complete. Remember, if you decide to change the food, you must change the food on a gradual basis over a 10-day period. By not following this gradual process you will cause your puppy to have stomach problems and diarrhea.
The puppy is stressed enough by moving away from its siblings, traveling to its new home, and all the excitement of a new environment and new people. Puppy stress can often cause diarrhea. Do not compound the problem and cloud the issue for the veterinarian by a dietary change too soon. A little canned pumpkin added to the puppy’s food would help with stress diarrhea.
After any long trip, give the puppy plenty of water (as much as the puppy is willing to drink) and only a small amount of food. You can also add sugar to the puppy’s water. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to about 8 ounces of water.
Immunization/De-Worming
All of our puppies are on a regular preventive schedule that includes vaccinations against canine distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, canine parvovirus, and bordetella (kennel cough). In addition to these vaccinations, all of our puppies have been dewormed and will be up-to-date on their vaccinations and deworming when arriving in their new homes.
After receiving your puppy, please make sure to speak to your veterinarian to continue its immunization and deworming schedule.
